Flora of New Zealand Short Course at The University of Waikato

The Society began as a group of enthusiastic botany students, and remains associated with the teaching of plant biology and ecology at the University. The School of Science previously offered a level two ‘Flora of New Zealand’ block course that was a popular choice for biology students as well as members of the community who wish to upgrade their botanical skills and learn more about New Zealand’s unique flora. This course is not currently offered, but teaching of plant identification and the features of our flora remain an important part of several courses with the Ecology and Biodiversity major, including Principles of Ecology (BIOEB202), Plant Structure and Function (BIOEB204), Terrestrial Ecology (BIOEB303), Advanced Plant Biology (BIOEB307) and Terrestrial Ecology (BIOEB503).
