Piggott Wetland is a 53 ha block near Tuakau, owned by Auckland / Waikato Fish and Game Council. It is a floodplain wetland with several large kahikatea stands typical of the Waikato River Delta. Fish and Game have been restoring habitat at this reserve which we will view along with the kahikatea stands. A great chance to see this type of habitat that is not usually accessible.

Meet: 9am at the Landcare Research carpark off Silverdale Rd, Hamilton or at 10am on the corner of Buckland Road and Parker Lane, north of Tuakau
